UNICEF Highlights Haiti

** As of mid-2025, the humanitarian situation has continued to deteriorate due to escalating armed group violence. 1.3 million people, including more than 680,000 children, have been displaced as of June 2025, representing a 24 per cent increase from December 2024.

** Since January, UNICEF continued to deliver critical life-saving services, treating 21,000 children for severe waste, providing healthcare to 117,000 people, and ensuring safe water for over 140,000 people.

** Cholera remains a significant public health concern, with 2,138 suspected cases reported by June 2025, including ninety-three confirmed cases and seventeen deaths. The global fatality rate was 1.23 per cent, while the case fatality rate in hospitals or treatment centers was 0.85 per cent.

** From the 2025 Humanitarian Action for Children (HAC) appeal, US$34.1 million is currently available for humanitarian interventions, leaving a funding gap of 87 per cent (US$237 million).
