Widlene, 14 years ago

September of 2010. Eight-year-old Widlene was among many kids enrolled in first grade for the first time at Ecole La Jemmerais de Custine, Cavaillon where she faces difficulties coping with the younger kids, in the classroom, they teased and harassed her.

 From then on, we supported her schooling along with others. Now she has grown mature in her faith and determination she has learned to trust in God. Despite her struggles she aspires to break the cycle of poverty and have an influence on her family life.

Now at twenty-one, she studies at College Jean Jacques Dessalines in Philo classes. (Philo equivalent U.S 12^th grade +1) classes are required to take Haiti’s National Exam. She remains dedicated to her dream of helping others as a nurse.

“I want to be a Nurse,” she said.
